Irène Arsenault

Obituary of Irène Mary Arsenault

October 20, 1933 ~ November 12, 2024 It's with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Irène Mary Arsenault (née Bernard). God called her home on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, at the beautiful age of 91. Irène has reached her heavenly home where there is no doubt she will be greeted with open arms by family and friends that have gone before her but especially by her beloved husband Tilmon who has departed this world in June of 2015. Irène always enjoyed time well spent with family and friends. Those who knew her appreciated her talents of making her homemade chocolate chip cookies, homemade bread and home cooked meals. Irène was quiet and somewhat shy, but once you knew her, you enjoyed her sense of humour either while playing cards or while entertaining family and friends. This earth's loss is Heaven’s gain. Irène was a teacher by trade and a mother and wife by choice. She raised, with her late husband Tilmon, a family of eleven children: Dianne (late Elmer), Jeannette (Eldon), Eunice (Don) MacIntyre, Gérald (Cécile), Nicole (Stevin), Ronald (Ruth), Marcella (Brian) Profitt, Michel, Jules (Tracy), Daniel and Donna. Irène also truly valued her time spent with her sixteen grandchildren: Christelle (Mathieu), Jacintha (Rit), Jonathan, Suzanne (Mitchell), Jamie (Jory), Gabriel, Mélanie (Bradley), Luc, Rémi, Gilbert, Trevor (Jess), Marissa (Darian), Darren (Natalie), Brandon, Morgan (Krista) and Marc, and her fourteen great grandchildren: Alex, Jessie, Brooklyn, Maya, Leah, Félix, Zaia, Tristan, Kanon, Kain, Belle, Kendall, Miles and Cal. Her devotion to her family and friends was next to none. We will miss her welcoming smile, her sweet voice and her gentle demeanour. A special thank you to the Chez-Nous staff and to the PCH staff for the care and compassion they showed our mother during her time there. Survived by the following brothers and sisters, Melvin (Angèle and late Doris), Florence (Ewen) MacKinnon, Raymond (Rita), Julien (Corinne), Thérèse (late Lionel) Arsenault, Patricia (late Earl) Perry, Alcide (Alvina), Marcel (Jeannita) and Claudette (John) Arsenault and in-laws Benny (Lila), Angèle (Melvin and late Martin), Clara (late Paul), Annie (Franky) Arsenault. Predeceased by her sister Alice (late Alfred) Richard, brothers Paul (Clara) and Roger and in-laws Freddie (late Bernice), Gérard (late Della), Flora (late Eugene) Gallant, Lionel (Thérèse), Joe (Martina) and by sister-in-law Doris Even if you left this earth before us, our love for you will never die. We invite you all to join our family for a time of remembrance and appreciation on Friday, November 15th, 2024, with visiting hours from 6 to 9 pm at the Evangeline Funeral Home, 900, Rte 124, Urbainville, PE. A Catholic celebration funeral will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church, Mont-Carmel at 10:30 am. She will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery after mass. Mom, may you rest in peace, and may you and Dad keep watching over us like you always did.
