Obituary of Gillis, Ronald

The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, surrounded by family, on July 16th of Ronald "Ronnie" Gillis of Wellington Centre age 76 years. Born in Wellington Centre, March 1st, 1944 son of the late Raymond and Celina (Desroches) Gillis, Ronnie is survived by his wife Blanche Barlow, dear son Chris Gillis (Norma), daughter Shelley Lowther (Rob), grandson Ben, and sister Gertrude Allison (Albert "Bucky"). Predeceased by his first wife Hazel Gillis (Arsenault). He was also predeceased by siblings Lillian, Laura, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Eldon (Buddy), and Ervin. Ronnie enjoyed being outside, driving tractors, cutting wood, working in the yard, and going to the local flea markets with Blanche. He was always happy to lend a hand and spend time with neighbors, friends, and family. Ronnie retired from CN Rail after almost 30 years and went on to spend several years working at neighbouring farms. There will be no visitation or funeral service by family request Memorial donations in Ronnie's memory made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to the staff of Prince County Hospital Emergency, ICU, and Palliative Care for keeping him comfortable at the end of life.
