Obituary of Richard, Arsène
Moncton, NB ~ Arsène Richard, 91, passed away peacefully at the Faubourg Du Mascaret in Moncton, on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021. Born in Mount-Carmel, PEI, he was the son of the late Glorice Richard and the late Marie-Anne Richard born Aucoin.
Arsène was a highly cultivated man, he studied in colleges and in universities, at the "Collège Saint-Joseph" of Memramcook, the "Université de Louvain" in Belgique and at the "Institut Catholique de Paris" in Paris. Arsène was extremely proud of his career at the "Université de Moncton" where he taught Philosophy for 34 years. Arsène was also a Priest within the Congregation of Holy Cross.
Arsène will be dearly missed by his brother, Adolphe Richard (Léona) of Wellington, PEI; two sisters, Mélina Richard of Moncton, and Bertha Richard (Gordon Perry) of Summerside, PEI; three sisters-in-law, Rosella (late Cyril) of Mount Carmel, PEI, Angèle (late Martin) of Summerside, PEI and Maria (late Robert) of Summerside, PEI; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel in Moncton (625, Mountain Road), on Wednesday, June 16th, 2021, from 7pm until 9pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Catholic Parish Church, Mont Carmel, PEI on Friday, July 9th followed by interment in the Parish cemetery.
Besides his parents, Arsène was predeceased by four brothers, Cyril, Martin, Éric (late Doria) and Robert; two sisters, Sr Marguerite Richard CND and Hélène Richard Dérasp (late Joseph); also by his earlier life partner, Laurielle Arsenault.
