Obituary of Mario LeBlanc

Surrounded by the love of his family in Mont-Carmel, Mario LeBlanc passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age of 46. Born in Dieppe, New Brunswick. Mario was a proud resident of PEI since 2009 and proudly worked as a janitor at École-sur-mer in Summerside since 2014. Mario was the son of the late Bernard LeBlanc (2007) and the late Viola LeBlanc (2010). He was the beloved brother of his twin sister Nathalie (Mathieu), Sophie (Andrew), Maria and Maurice (Carolyn). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Caleb, Marc, Monica, Samuel, Dominique, Jacob and Marielle. Mario LeBlanc, known as Fayo, was a singer-songwriter and poet. In 2000, he won the songwriter's prize at the Gala de la chanson de Caraquet. Fayo then embarked on a career that has taken him to Europe and across Canada on several occasions. He has three albums to his credit, many of which have left their mark on the imagination of the Acadian people. He became a great ambassador for Acadia during his tours and residencies in France and Belgium. In 2000, Mario also published a major poetry collection, Taches de naissance. A man of many talents, appreciated by the artistic community, Mario will be missed not only by his family, but also by many friends, work colleagues and all those who crossed paths with him over the years. Whether on stage, in impromptu encounters, or simply on the street. Mario was a beautiful person who was always happy to share his time. There will be a celebration of his life, at Le Centre La Belle-Alliance, 5 Ave. Maris Stella, Summerside, PEI on Sunday, October 6th, from 2 to 5 p.m., and at the Salle Bernard LeBlanc at the Aberdeen Cultural Centre on Monday, October 7th, from 5 to 8 p.m. Due to medical allergies, please do not wear scented perfumes.
