Obituary of Maddix, Elmer Joseph

The death occurred peacefully at his late residence in Tyne Valley on Friday, December 24th, 2021 of Elmer Joseph Maddix, formerly of Saint Gilbert, at the age of 76 years. Born on May 7th, 1945 he was the son of the late Joseph Maddix and the late Lucie (Arsenault) Maddix of Saint Gilbert. Elmer is survived by his estranged wife Rose Arsenault, and his stepdaughter Christal Maddix. He is also survived by brothers and sisters Doris (Mark) Cormier, Zita (Ted - deceased) Hemstead, Emmett (Sally), Sr. Émélie, Ernest (Bernice), Rena Poirier, Charlie (Bonnie), Jeanne (Roger Albert). Also left to cherish his memory are sisters-in-law Lisa, Rhonda and Marion Maddix, and step grandchildren Cordell, Tyrell and Donell. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Lucie Maddix, brothers Adolphe, Raymond and Earl Maddix, and an infant sister, Edna. Resting at Évangéline Funeral Home, Urbainville. A private family service will be held at a later date with interment in St. Philippe et St. Jacques cemetery, Egmont Bay.
