To the sweetest lady I’ve ever known,
I am so blessed to have been your granddaughter-in-law. Thank you for teaching me how to bake bread, amazing me with your lush, fruitful garden and your quilting and looming skills, warming up my stomach with your creamy navy beans (the best on your crispy toasted buttered bread, drizzled with molasses!) and your seafood chowder. Sorry again for the time I unknowingly drained away the fat from your Christmas turkey instead of saving it for the gravy lol, that’s what happens when you let me help, lol. Even then, you felt bad for seeing me feel bad, and said « oh I shouldn’t have said anything to you »…because that’s how great you are. I hope all your great grand kids will turn out to be as amazing as you are: a strong, nurturing and roll with the the punches kind of gal, solid as a rock, soft hearted as butter whether you’re manufacturing ammunition in the war or baking in the kitchen. We love you Mémé, may our memories never fade so you live forever in our thoughts.
