Obituary of Louise Marie Comeau

May 4, 1946 ~ May 6, 2024 Louise Marie Comeau, aged 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends on May 6th, embraced by the warmth of a sunny spring day. She was born on May 4th, 1946, at Metegan River (La Butte), NS. Predeceased by her loving parents, Denis Comeau and Régine née Dugas and brother Paul Comeau, Louise is survived by the love of her life, George Arsenault, her children Ghislaine Cormier, Sylvain Cormier (Allison Cooke), stepdaughters Danielle Robinson (Steve Robinson, Harley and Zack) et Julie Arsenault (Robert Arsenault). Louise valued education immensely, earning her Nursing Degree and a BA in French from Université Sainte-Anne. She furthered her studies by obtaining a master’s in Psychology from the University of Moncton. Her career journey began as a dedicated Registered Nurse at the VG Hospital in Halifax. She served as a Development Officer at the Federal Government, a radio producer for Radio-Canada, and later as the Executive Director of the economic development organization, La Société de développement de la Baie Acadienne (SDBA), An accomplished entrepreneur, Louise established several successful businesses including Marché Cormier, Le P’tit Coton, and Création Louise Comeau – Quilting Economuseum. Beyond her professional endeavors, Louise was a beacon in her community, contributing significantly to the development of Francophone and Acadian communities through her involvement in various boards and community projects including Human Rights Commission. Louise's legacy extends far beyond her professional achievements. She will be fondly remembered by the friends and communities she touched. An avid gardener, her gardens were a testament to her passion for nurturing beauty and growth. A true testament to her caring spirit, Louise always had a special place in her heart for nature and animals, especially her beloved cats. In honoring Louise's memory, her family and friends invite those who knew and loved her to cherish the moments shared and the impact she made on their lives. A community open house will take place at the Evangeline Funeral Home on Sunday May 19th from 1-4pm, with a private gathering for family and friends to follow.
