It is with great sadness I have learned of my 1st cousin Joan's passing. As a young boy I have spent several summer holidays on Aunt Bernetta's and uncle Fonces' farm in Grand River. I spent a lot of time with Betty and Lillian as they were closed to my age. I remember the whole family and feared the older ones to a degree but always found Joan to be nice to me. To this day some of my fondest memories are of my time on that farm. My two children loved the stories I would tell them of my time there. I had a lot of fun but was also put to work in the hay fields and barn feeding and cleaning up after the animals. I loved going to the fields to bring the cows home for milking. I loved the horses Prince and Queen but feared Harry. From 2001 till 2014 I spent my summers at Pine Hills campground Near Ch'town and had visited with Joan several time. I was so looking forward to seeing her at McIver reunion in Kinkora this summer. May God bless her soul and my sincere condolence to her family and friends.
