Obituary of Roy Joseph Gallant

April 19, 1952 ~ September 18, 2023 With broken hearts, the family of Roy Joseph Gallant of Abram-Village wish to announce his passing on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, age 71 years. Roy is survived by his beloved wife Rita (née Arsenault) and cherished son of the late Tilmon Gallant and the late Doreen (Barriault) Gallant and stepson of the late Alyre Arsenault of Abram-Village. He was the proud father of Serge (Melanie) of Stratford, PEI; Chantal (Scott) of Calgary, AB and Michel of Surrey, BC. He was adored and will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Caleb and Brielle. Roy will also be forever remembered by numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Tilmon Gallant and Doreen Arsenault, his stepfather Alyre Arsenault and by his sister Edith Gallant. Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 PE-124, Urbainville for visiting hours on Friday, September 22nd from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church, Egmont Bay on Saturday, September 23rd at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Donations in Roy’s memory made to the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blinds) or to the Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated.
