Obituary of Eldon Joseph Arsenault
January 28, 1939 – May 12, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Joseph Eldon Arsenault of Summerside and formerly of Wellington, announce his passing at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, May 12, 2023. Eldon was the beloved husband of Betty Arsenault (née Gallant). Born January 28, 1939 in Urbainville, he was the son of the late Alyre and Marieanne (née Gallant) Arsenault.
Eldon was the proud father of Brian (Joyce) Arsenault, Lori Ann Arsenault and the late Karen Arsenault. He will forever be remembered by his brothers and sisters: Armand (Précille), Thelma (Earl) DesRoches, Yvonne Gallant (Cédric – deceased), Louise Stanger (Pete – deceased), Roger (Lorraine), Mélina (Eric) Gallant; by grandchildren: Candice, Jessica (Daniel LeBlanc) and Avery (Jadnn Greer) and great-grandchild Hunter Dionne. Eldon will also be missed by sister and brothers-in-law; Orella Arsenault, Hermine Arsenault, Zelma Arsenault, Marie Gallant, Léo (Erma) Gallant. He will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Alyre and Marieanne, father and mother-in-law Joseph and Aldea Gallant, his daughter Karen, his brothers Abel (Eva), Léo, Edward, Julien, Calixte; sisters Aldona (Léo Vautour), Hermina and Mélina at a young age and by brother-in-law Reggie Gallant.
Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville, for visiting hours on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. followed by a funeral mass at 4 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Richmond, Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
