Obituary of Gallant, Cyr Pierre

The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, November 20th, 2010, of Cyr Pierre Gallant of Wellington, formerly of Cape Egmont, at the age of 82 years. He is the son of the late Jean Wilfred "Jack Ferdinand" and Marie Leonie (nee Richard) Gallant. He is survived by brothers and sisters Dorothy Arsenault of Summerset Manor, Zoel (Emily) of Ontario; Wilfred (Yvette) of Richibuctou and Georgina (Norman) Desmarais of Mass, USA and an "Adopted" daughter Jeannine LeBlanc. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Flora, Eileen, Florence, Euclide, Martin, Rene, Clarence, Raymond, Wilfred, Anita and Louise. Besides his wife Josephine; he is pre-deceased by his parents and grandparents, brother Arthur Blacquiere, Eugene Gallant, Leonce Gallant and a sister Anne Marie Arsenault and a brother Pierre in infancy and a brother-in-law Edward. He was one of the founders of the Evangeline Funeral Home. Resting at the Evangeline Funeral home until Wednesday, then to Notre Dame du Mont Carmel for funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Visitors, friends and relatives will be received on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Mont Carmel Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. He spent many hours in numerous community committees. He was a member of the Club d' Age d'Or and a member of Club Social Acadien. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
