Obituary of Arsenault, Gavin Joseph

The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital on April 2nd, 2012, of Gavin Joseph Arsenault of St. Raphael formerly of St. Chrysostome who passed away suddenly after battling a long illness, at the age of 71. He is the son of the Late Donat Arsenault and Madeleine (nee Gallant). He is survived by his wife Irene and the following children: Daniel (Toronto), Paulette (Daren) Dufloth, Portland, Oregon, Richard (Dannette) Arsenault, Edmonton, Colette (Rene) Arsenault, St. Raphael, Janice, Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Laura (Graham) MacPhail of Charlottetown, Jeanne Duffenais and Florence of Summerside, Albert of St. Chrysostome, Simon (Lee Machado) of Toronto, Ont., and Raymond of Abram's Village. He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren: Dakota Dufloth, Brylee Dufloth, Preslee Dufloth, Tyler Arsenault, Parker Arsenault, Dyllan Arsenault, Stephanie Gallant, Kelsie Arsenault, Haley Dudley, Canion Dudley, Christopher Remakel. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy and Zita and brother Hector, his father and mother-in-law Albin and Beatrice Arsenault. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #17 Wellington for the past 50 years. Resting at the Evangeline Funeral Co-op in Urbainville until Wednesday April 4th, then to the St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church in Egmont Bay for funeral mass at 4:00 p.m. Visiting hours on Tuesday April 3rd, from 2-4p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday April 4th from 2p.m. until the time of the funeral. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The members of the Wellington Legion will hold a Legion service at 6:45 pm on Tuesday at the Evangeline Funeral Coop. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
