Obituary of Gallant, Theresa Mary

With many loved ones at her bedside, the death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Sunday December 6, 2015 of Theresa Marie Gallant, recently of Chez-Nous in Wellington, formerly of Cap-Egmont, at the age of 89 years. Theresa came into this world on July 18, 1926, daughter of Honoré S. and Loretta (née Gaudet) Gallant of St-Raphael. On July 19, 1950 she married Adelard Gallant of Cap-Egmont, who predeceased her in 2005. Surviving her are their seven children: Marcel of Caraquet NB, Paulette (Kenny) Richard-Davis of Summerside, Robert (Marguerite) of Mont-Carmel, Roger (Nancy) of Cap-Egmont, Claude of Clinton, Noella Kelly of Summerside, and Jeanne (Keith) DesRoches of Summerside; three brothers : Cyril of Kensington, Leonard (Patricia) and Raymond (Beatrice) of Ontario; brother-in-law Pierre LeBlanc of Saint-Antoine NB, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Emmanuel Richard; brothers Wilfred, Alyre and wife Elva; sisters Marie as a child, Elaine (Pierre) of Saint-Antoine NB, Cecile and husband Benoit Aucoin, Rita and husband Eddie Aucoin; sister-in-law Theresa (Cyril); in- laws Theodore, Marguerite, Rita, Amedee and wife Marie-Louise. A source of great joy were her 14 grandchildren: Daniel (Colombe) of Dieppe NB, Christine of Caraquet NB; on PEI : Monique (Randy) Steele, Michelle (Allen) Gaudet, Denny (Andrea) Richard; Jeffrey, Angela (Brian Yeo); Cherie (David) Gallant, Melissa (Jackson) Manderson, Debbie (Marc Goyetche); Jill (Thomas) Waugh; and of Montreal, Nicole Kelly (Luke Nelson), of Fort McMurray Matthew (Jeannette) DesRoches and of Brampton Ontario, Chris DesRoches (Alexandra Ohayon). Theresa delighted also in her 16 greatgrandchildren: Arthur of Dieppe NB; on PEI: Victor and Tristan Steele; Alex and Josh Gaudet; Liam and Kate Richard; Abbie, Ella and Charlee Yeo; Britney Gallant; Noah and Harry Manderson; Xander Goyetche; of Montreal, Bo Nelson; of Fort McMurray, Spencer DesRoches and baby brother due any day. Resting at Evangeline Funeral Coop Home, Urbainville with visiting hours on Wednesday December 9 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9. Funeral Mass and celebration of thanks for her long life will be held at Our Lady of Mont Carmel Church on Thursday December 10 at 10:30 am. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a trust fund for Christine Gallant or to the Prince County Hospital Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.
