Obituary of Arsenault, J. Simon Edgar

On Saturday, February 10th, 2018, in his 84th year, Simon Edgar Arsenault formerly of Abram's Village died at the Summerset Manor S'side. He was the son of the late Emilien Arsenault & Gabrielle (Bérubé) Arsenault. He is survived by his beloved wife Irene Arsenault, and the following children: Ronald(Wanda) N.S.,Mona(Claude) Abram's Village, Jean-Louis(Barb), S'side, Norman,(deceased Helen), Mill Rive, Paul Grande Prairie, AB,Leona(Keir) St. Raphael, Gisele Grande-Prairie ,AB. Cherished grandfather to numerous grand children, great-grand children,also survived by nieces & nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Sr.Marie-Fernande c n d, Charlottetown, Yvette McDonald, Ottawa, Ont. and a brother Yvon Abram's Village as well as a sister-in - law Jeanita Lakefield,Ont. He was predeceased by his son Simon Jr. and numerous brothers and sisters and in-laws. Visiting hours will be held at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday February 14th, and on Thursday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Funeral mass on Thursday February 15, at St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church,Egmont Bay at 10: 30. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date. In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Summerset Manor, Egmont Bay Cemetery Fund, or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arsenault of the Summerset Manor in S'side and formerly of Abram-Village, dear husband of Irene Arsenault was held on Thursday February 15th from the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay. The funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Michel Painchaud who proclaimed the gospel, delivered the homily and read the prayers of the final commitment and farewell, assisted by Fr. Albin Arsenault. The readings were proclaimed by Gabriella Arsenault and Melissa Arsenault who also did the prayers of the faithful. The active pall bearers were Ronald, Jean-Louis, Norman, Justin, Marc and Jamie. Flower bearers were Barb and Wanda. Cross bearer was Claude and the candle bearers were Mona and Marielle. The community Church choir with Jeannita Bernard and Nicholas Arsenault play the guitar. Interment will take place in the Church cemetery at a later date.
