Obituary of Poirier, Aline
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her family at Le Chez Nous, Wellington on Friday, June 21st, 2019 of Aline Poirier, aged 95, formerly of Mont-Carmel. Beloved wife of the late Ulric Poirier she was the last surviving member of her family.
Born in Maximville, PEI on July 21st, 1923, besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents Leon D. and Marie Arsenault of Maximville, PEI.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters, Albin, Claudette (Stan), Jean Paul (Galina), Simonne (Leonce, deceased), Simon (Lourdes), Martin and Lionel, also lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Catherine Arsenault and Anita Poirier.
Predeceased by brothers and sisters Léna, Corinne, Matilda, Theodore, Edmond, Fred, John, Emilie, Dorothy, Pierre, grandson Daniel and son-in-law Leonce.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy. She was a very active member of her community being involved in many organizations. She was a person of great faith and accepted her many life challenges with courage. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, weaving, knitting, and donated a lot of her work to charity.
During her life she was an active member of Les Dames du Sanctuaire de Mont-Carmel, a member of St. Paul Parish CWL Summerside and a graduate from Prince of Whales College where she received a teacher's license and thought school for a few years before becoming a stay at home mom. Later on she worked in handicrafts at the Pioneer Village in Mont-Carmel
Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Tuesday June 25th then to Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel church Mont-Carmel for funeral Mass at 10:30 am.
Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
Visiting hours at the Évangéline Funeral Home, Urbainville, on Monday, June 24th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
